In the autumn of 2020 I decided to move my life from Los Angeles where I grew up and where I built my career as a photographer to Prague in the Czech Republic to study photography at FAMU, the prestigious film and tv academy. In 2023 I completed my Master’s degree with the intention of teaching. I’ve created a two-hour photography workshop in Prague that takes students through the historic Old Town and covers the most common vacation photography situations and how to shoot them better. No more saying “This photo doesn't do it justice you really have to see it in person”.
AI is changing the professional art landscape in ways we still don’t fully understand but as far as I’ve seen, it still can’t document your own life for you. In an era where visuals dominate our culture and we all have to be our own brand, some basic photography knowledge can be invaluable, not just on vacation, but in life in general.
